The natural world of Belarus is fascinating and varied. It is a mixture of forests, swamps and grasslands. Because of its unique nature the country has been included into the list of countries called “the lungs of Europe”. There are numerous lakes and rivers especially in the north of the country. As a result Belarus has often been named the blue-eyed country. The most widely known symbols of the republic are a bison, a stork and a cornflower.

Природный мир Беларуси интересен и разнообразен. Это смесь лесов, болот и лугов. Благодаря своей уникальной природе страна попала в список стран, называемых «легкими Европы». На севере страны располагается множество озер и рек. Поэтому Беларусь часто называют голубоглазой страной. Самыми известными символами республики являются зубр, аист и василек.

Animal world — Животный мир

More than 30,000 species of animals live in the wilds of our country: elks, wild boars, deer, wolves, hares and beavers. Never in your life will you forget meeting a herd of European bison! This animal is one of the symbols of Belarus. Unfortunately, people have always killed wild animals uncontrollably, so the lives of many of them are in danger now. The European bison is an endangered animal too.

В дикой природе нашей страны обитают более 30 000 видов животных: лоси, кабаны, олени, волки, зайцы и бобры… Никогда в жизни вы не забудете встречу со стадом зубров! Это животное является одним из символов Беларуси. К сожалению, люди всегда бесконтрольно убивали диких животных, поэтому жизни многих из них сейчас в опасности. Зубр также находится под угрозой исчезновения.
